My records originally had Elizabeth Copp's parents recorded as Joseph Copp and Rachel Denison.  Research that led me to this very detailed genealogy of Rachel Denison's family at first made me think I simply had the wrong last name due to a remarriage. However, it quickly became apparent that in fact my Elizabeth Copp does not come from this family.  Update:  Information obtained from the Connecticut State Library shows that in fact the assumed genealogy is correct.  I will post this information shortly.

My Elizabeth Copp married Benjamin Hempstead in 1779; this has been verified by indexed vital records.  My records show among her children the twins Charles Turner and Nancy.  My records show Nancy Hempstead as my 4th Great Grandmother, because that is assuming that Sarah Stoddard Holt is their child, which seems unlikely considering that the "Stoddard" name here suddenly appears and that they would have been nearly 40-years-old when Sarah was born.
