Mary Gading^{1, 2, 3}

Born 03 November 1830 in Bremin, Germany¹.  Married Edward Clawiter1.  Died 01 May 1906, perhaps as a result of the Great San Francisco Earthquake1,2.  Buried in Mt. Eden Cemetery.⁴

LeRoy F. Krusi wrote on the back of this photo:"My grandmother (maternal) Clawiter. Came around horn in sailing ship to marry her betrothed Edward Clawiter. Her first child Uni (Union) Clawiter was born in Union City; the first white child born in Washington Township. Mothered 12 daughters & 1 son. Died during S.F. Earthquake & fire 1906 at her home in Alameda."
