Letter2 from Eleanor to her mother, Harriet Louise Gorham, dated 31 October 1920 from the Midland Adelphi Hotel Liverpool while accompanying her husband on a business trip to England and Europe.  The letter states that daughter Harriet, 12 years old, is also present. (page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

In the 23 September 1905 issue of a magazine unfortunately named "the Wasp" appeared the column "Who's Who?" by Grace Van Tassel titled, "Have We A Four Hundred in California?".  This article2 contains the following text:

"Mr. and Mrs. William R. Eckart are well-known society folk.  Their daughter, Eleanor, a dainty, winsome little maid, was one of the smart set's most popular members.  She married not long ago, and is now Mrs. Hume.  Her husband and baby absorb her, and the gay whirl knows her but little."
