Significant updates 20 August 2005!

Born 12 Jul 1836 in England to Mary HEDDITCHE and John DYKE.1, 2  This historian does not have a town of origin in England.  There was a note tucked in the front cover of the Dyke Family Bible that said "born at March Caurch near Hiuncautou [spell?] Sommersetshire, England.  Married Harriet Elizabeth "Hattie" BARTLETT 22 Sep 1868 in Cuyahoga, Ohio.1, 2, 3  Died 09 Feb 1889.1, 5 Recorded as buried in the Strongsville Cemetary5, however this historian could not locate the grave marker.6

Children with Harriet Elizabeth "Hattie" Bartlett:

Charles John Dyke, male born 02 Feb 1870 in Ohio, with unknown issue.1, 2 There is a Charles Dyke indexed on the 1920 census in Millburn, Essex, New Jersey, as the only Charles Dyke of the right age range born in Ohio.  However, this historian could not find him on the actual census page (or the page before or after that indexed) and he does not appear on the 1930 census.  The Family Data Collection (a family history available from a discontinued genetics project) shows a Charles Dyke married to a Sarah J. Cline. This historian has no further information about this individual.
